The Times
ViMove is used in elite sport but we use it with everyday people who have pain. Gyroscopic sensors are placed on the back or legs and connected to advanced software wirelessly. As you move, the software measures and records your exact movement in different plains.
Whilst we can typically see with our eyes where restrictions lie, using ViMove we can not only confirm what we see, it also helps us as practitioners and you as a patient to fully appreciate where and how your body is moving, whether properly or with some dysfunction.
Our spines are intended to move to stay healthy. Small restrictions through injury or lifestyle can lead to big problems later in life. If you think you are in good shape, well, with ViMove you can either see that you are right, or you can see that in fact there are some issues which could benefit from some work as you consider your long term health.
What if I can’t move?
Some patients come to us on crutches and barely able to move. Provided there is some degree of movement, we can assess you. If you can’t move, we’ll work on that first until you can. From there we can tailor treatment to your needs and track your progress.
Bending measurement analysis with ViMove at Spinex
All of our patients find it very interesting to see the live feed of their movement and it helps to confirm in their minds the causes of their problem. Armed with clarity of a problem, patients can better engage with lifestyle behaviour adjustments which may be necessary if how you sit, work and rest have contributed to your problem.
